Hello friend,

There’s something about the first stretch of warm weather that feels like a quiet invitation. Not loud. Not dramatic. Just a soft little nudge that says, “Hey… you can come back to life now.”

After months of cold mornings and bundling up, these warmer days feel like a reset button. The sunlight hits different. The air feels lighter. And suddenly I’m remembering how much I love being outside in my shorts, in my sandals, or honestly, barefoot if the ground is warm enough. There’s a freedom in that simplicity that winter just can’t touch.

And as much as I love the warmth itself, there’s always this little part of me that thinks, “This would feel even better if I could smell the salt from the sea right now.” That soft ocean breeze, that hint of salt in the air, it’s like my whole soul exhales. Warm weather is wonderful, but warm weather near the water is a whole different kind of peace.

The shift in temperature also wakes up that part of me that wants to move again, not in a big, dramatic way, but in the small ways that make life feel lighter. Rolling the windows down. Opening the sunroof. Letting the warm air rush in while the radio plays something familiar. There’s something about those drives that feels like a tiny vacation, even if I’m just running errands. It’s the feeling of being unwrapped from winter.

I’ve missed that.
I’ve missed the sun on my skin.
I’ve missed the feeling of warm air instead of cold wind.
I’ve missed slipping into shorts without thinking twice.
I’ve missed the simple joy of a window-down drive with the music up.
And yes, I’ve missed that ocean salt feeling, even if it’s only in my imagination for now.

So as the temperatures start to climb, I can feel myself shifting too. Winter is cozy, but spring feels like possibility. Like momentum. Like a gentle reminder that we’re allowed to start again, lighter, brighter, and a little more barefoot.

Here’s to warmer days.
Here’s to open windows and open skies.
Here’s to the simple joys waiting for us, and maybe one day, a little salt in the air too.
