Hello friend,
We had planned a special day for McKinley, something just for her. When she arrived, we started by going to breakfast, where she ordered Apple Cinnamon waffles, warm, golden, and full of those cozy flavors that make a morning feel extra special.
Afterwards, we headed over to the Art Link. McKinley is naturally quiet, but I could tell she was going to have fun. There was a calm curiosity in the way she looked around, taking in the colors, supplies, and creative energy of the space.
She jumped into candleβmaking with her usual thoughtful focus, measuring, pouring, and choosing scents with so much care. It was one of those moments where you can see a child learning something new in real time, steady, patient, and completely present.
Once her candle was cooling, she moved on to naming and creating her candle label. Watching her pick out markers, think through her design, and write out her label felt like the perfect finishing touch, her creativity wrapped around something she made with her own hands.
The day was a reminder that the best memories often come from the simplest days, and Iβm grateful we got to share one of them together.
